The Band Today
Apart from day-to-day support of the Regiment's military duties and ceremonies, the Pipes & Drums are frequently featured in the cultural community of the City of Victoria. We perform at many of the city's biggest annual events, such as the Symphony Splash with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra in the Inner Harbour and the annual Victoria Day Parade. The band also takes part in competitions from time to time, currently in the Grade IV classification.
The Regimental Pipes and Drums are just one member of the Regimental musical 'family'. There is also an active pipe band in the 2136 Canadian Scottish Cadet Corps in Victoria, as well as the pipe band of the Canadian Scottish Regiment Association.
At times the three bands combine to perform for events like the Canadian Scottish Regiment Ceilidh and Remembrance Day ceremonies.
Over the last several years, members of the Pipes & Drums have performed at numerous high profile and international events, such as:
- Calgary Stampede
- Grey Cup Parade, Vancouver
- Fortissimo - Canadian Forces Beating Retreat, Ottawa
- Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Scotland
- Netherlands National Tattoo
The band is comprised of serving Reservists in the Canadian Armed Forces as well as dedicated civilian volunteers. If you're a piper or drummer and would like to check us out, please do so.
